Folkestone Town Council supports the ‘Fairtrade for Folkestone’ campaign

Folkestone Town Council is campaigning to get Fairtrade Town Status for the town in 2018 and beyond. We want to encourage as many local businesses, organisations, schools and churches as possible to promote Fairtrade products.

Becoming a Fairtrade Town sends a powerful message about how the community wants trade to work and will directly benefit some of world’s poorest farmers and workers.

Examples of Fairtrade products are: tea, coffee, sugar, bananas, chocolate, and even gold. Keep an eye out for the blue and green Fairtrade mark!

We would like members of the community to be involved in the campaign, so please do contact Wendy Reed on 01303 257946 or at wendy.reed@folkestone-tc.gov.uk if you are interested in helping us in any way.

Keep an eye on this page to see how we are progressing with the campaign.
